Researchers in the fields of humanities and social sciences are often loners. We tend to do our own research on our own or at best of times, we may work in groups where everyone organises and researches an individual area/topic, and then we put findings together.
If you want to find collaborators, you search through your personal academic network, or you contact specific people that you’ve tracked down after reading their work. That’s quite limited.
I was pleased when one of my Facebook friends who I firstly met when I started fieldwork in the chipscene, made a status update about “Make Paper”, an academic collaboration network. I’ve always wanted to connect with other researchers and work collaboratively, and hopefully this tool will facilitate the search of people with mutual interests.
Have a look here for the details.
