Yesterday I read about Pixelh8‘s latest album, which was released at the end of October. In his own words, he’s a “multidisciplinary artist and techno anthropologist”. I really enjoy this nominalisation! His latest album entitled “And the revolution” is a chiptunes masterpiece. Not only he incorporates bent instruments, hacked game consoles and software, but also, his songs have a radical musical structure in terms of the genre. It’s nothing like I’ve heard before, it’s highly intellectual but at the same time fun to listen to.
You can buy a digital copy of “And the revolution” on Pixelh8’s website. Great stuff.
He also delivers lectures on circuit-bending and 8 bit musics. Catch him next week in Bedford, in December he’ll be in Essex area, and next year don’t miss out the great event at the V&A museum in London. Wow I’m excited!
Here’s an old vid of his song “Girl Fight”.
