How didn’t I see this coming?

I was just reading Ian Woodward’s Understanding Material Culture and I am shocked.

At some point he mentions Levi-Strauss’s theory of bricolage which can be generalised in a form of musical bricolage (see what Wiki says). And Hebdige has taken this theory one step beyond: we can alter objects’ materiality by recontextualising them.

So, circuit-bending is not only a musical bricolage that works in a different context, but it includes a structural modification of the object’s components.

I curse my memory for not remembering this theory before!
